I planted some rosemary about a month and a half ago. I watered my cup of dirt every other day, cradled it, sang to it....and you know what? After a month a little green sprout reached into the cool florida air and took in it's first true breath of carbon dioxide. Ah....it was beautiful.
Then, 3 days later, one of the dogs on my farm knocked the cup of dirt off my second floor deck.
The dirt scattered everywhere and the infant sprout was lost among the stones.
I wept for a long time.
Possibly the worst morning of these last few months.
